The CM Program continuously evolves to meet the needs of managers worldwide. However, keeping up with changes in the business environment and the profession of management is a daunting proposition. ICPM is seeking assistance in accomplishing this task by forming a CM Advisory Council, made up of some of the best managers in the world - Certified Managers!
"Becoming a Certified Manager demonstrates a high level of managerial skills and abilities." said Drew Koch, ICPM's Manager of Assessment & Technology. "We've already identified the best of the best from all over the world. Why wouldn't we want to take advantage of that? It's really a no-brainer."
The CM Advisory Council will assist in the development and review of ICPM learning and certification exam products. The Council will also prepare participants for future service on the ICPM Board of Regents, if interested.
CM Advisors will serve an initial 1-year, renewable term and choose to serve as either an Exam Advisor or Learning Advisor.
Exam Advisors will write and review exam questions that are related to their areas of expertise (leadership, human resources, customer service, accounting, etc.) Training in question writing and review will be provided online. The time commitment will be nominal – just write 1 or 2 questions and participate in 1 online meeting per month.
Learning Advisors will review learning formats and content that relates to their areas of expertise. They also have the opportunity to write practice questions and develop case studies to support existing ICPM learning products, as well as provide feedback on new learning products.
Eligible candidates for the CM Advisory Council must have a minimum of 5 years of management experience and be CM certified with current recertification status. CM instructors, facilitators and ICPM Authorized Partners may also participate on the CM Advisory Council; however, they are limited to the role of learning advisor only.
Due to overwhelming response, applications for the CM Advisory Council are no longer being accepted for 2012.
