| Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMARTM) |

The CMAR certification recognizes competency and professionalism in the field of Animal Resources Management. The CMAR designation is earned by passing four examinations: the three Certified Manager exams and the Animal Resources Exam, which is offered by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).
The Animal Resources Exam
The AR Exam measures a candidate's knowledge and competence with respect to rules and regulations, compliance issues, and the fundamentals of working with laboratory animals. The exam assesses knowledge and competence in the following topic areas:

Animal Husbandry, Health and Welfare (15%)

Administration and Management (30%)

Human Resource Management (10%)

Research and Compliance (45%)
Eligibility
The CMAR program's eligibility requirements are more specific than for the CM program and vary based on an applicant's level of education. If your ultimate goal is the CMAR certification you should make sure you meet them when applying. The CMAR program’s requirements are as follows:

Recertification
CMAR certificants are required to recertify bi-annually through AALAS. They are not required to recertify annually with ICPM. As long as their certification remains current CMARs receive the same privileges and benefits enjoyed by Certified Managers, including full access to the ICPM website, directory, and online community.
